Bucharest Design Festival exhibition: 21 Grams of the World
Some projects are born slowly, from many small gestures repeated over time.
21 Grams of the World, our exhibition presented at Bucharest Design Festival, brings together twenty-one ceramic pieces created in our atelier, each carrying a quiet story, a fragment, a trace of feeling.
Curated by Bogdan Ciocodeică, whom we warmly thank for the invitation and for the trust, the exhibition became a way of gathering our recent work into one shared constellation.
Twenty-one pieces.
Twenty-one presences.
Twenty-one small weights of the world.
We kept returning to one question:
How much can a small object hold?
A memory, a longing, a prayer, a gesture, a beginning, a wound, a form of tenderness.
Objects, Time and Intention
At Atelier Ars Ana, we often think of objects as quiet companions.
They are made slowly, by hand, through repetition, waiting, touching, firing, painting, correcting and sometimes beginning again. Nothing arrives instantly. Each piece carries the time of its making inside it.
For 21 Grams of the World, we wanted the works to feel like small vessels of meaning. Not loud statements, but intimate presences. Objects that invite you to come closer, to look again, to notice the small details: a line, a face, a bird, a gesture, a blue trace, a silence.
The title speaks about fragility and weight at the same time. About the invisible things we carry. About the part of the world that cannot be measured easily, but can be felt.
21 Grams of the World
The exhibition brings together ceramic works shaped and painted by hand in our atelier.
Each object belongs to a larger visual language we have been slowly building over the years: figures, wings, houses, birds, trees, fragments of bodies, symbols of protection, tenderness and return.
Some pieces feel like relics from a world already lost. Others feel like signs left for a future that has not yet arrived.
Together, they form a small emotional map, a report from a world made of care, memory and fragile beauty.
A Quiet Story Behind Each Piece
We are drawn to objects that seem to remember something.
An image from childhood.
A gesture of protection.
A form of love.
A little myth invented by the hand while working.
The pieces in this exhibition were made with intention, but also with openness to accident and imperfection. Clay always has its own intelligence. It keeps the imprint of touch, the hesitation of the line, the small irregularities that make each object alive.
For us, this is where the story begins: not in perfection, but in presence.
