Ars Ana

Roman Vase with wild flowers

This vase carries the quiet poetry of a Roman garden, where nature was never separate from daily life, but woven into it through frescoes, mosaics, and vessels made to honour beauty in the ordinary. In those intimate interiors lit by the soft tremor of oil lamps, flowers were not merely decorative. They were symbols of abundance, devotion, and fleeting grace, small reminders that beauty is most powerful when it is allowed to pass gently through everyday moments.

Its silhouette recalls ancient vessels with a contemporary clarity: grounded, sculptural, and serene. The generous body gives it presence, while the narrow neck gathers each stem with intention, turning even the simplest arrangement into composition. Hand-painted wild flowers unfold across the white surface in cobalt blue and warm coral-red, like fragments of a fresco... delicate, spontaneous, and alive.

There is a tenderness in the contrast between form and ornament. The shape feels architectural, almost ceremonial, while the painted flowers soften it with movement and lightness. It is an object that holds both stillness and bloom, structure and fragility.

Placed in a contemporary home, this vase becomes more than a functional piece. It is a quiet statement of atmosphere, a vessel for branches, flowers, or simply for its own presence. Whether filled or left empty, it brings with it the feeling of a lived beauty, timeless, gentle, and deeply intentional.
